7 things non-coffee lovers can do at Singapore Coffee Festival

The inaugural Singapore Coffee Festival (SCF) at the F1 Pit Building opens to the public this Friday (June 10) and many caffeine addicts are raring to go.

But what about those who don’t fancy having a cup of joe?

If you are attending the event to accompany your coffee junkie friends, or if you don’t want to miss out on the cool stuff (we feel you) – fret not because we’ve got you covered.

Here are seven things to do and look out for when you’re at SCF this weekend:

1. Groove to the tunes

Fashion creative Daniel Boey and his team have prepared a stellar lineup of home-grown musicians to perform for guests in an intimate setting.

Look out for some of our local music scene’s finest acts such as singer-songwriters Charlie Lim, iNCH, indie band Pleasantry and more.

2. Catch a local flick outdoors

Tired of walking around? Chill out under the stars and enjoy screenings of four local films – SG50 anthology film 7 letters; hit getai film 881; comedy Singapore Dreaming; and ’90s romance drama Eating Air.

You don’t necessarily have to lie there and watch them all – but who’s keeping count, anyway?

3. Enjoy some art

Take a stroll through the two-storey exhibition space and feast your eyes on artwork from local artists and designers that showcase Singapore’s vibrant coffee scene and culture.

4. Grab a drink (that’s not coffee)

We get it. You don’t drink coffee. But the thoughtful people behind SCF made sure to include other beverage options.

If you’re a juice fan, head to booth 2A7 to sip on raw, vegan cold pressed juices with HICJUICE.

Tea lovers can also check out the unique selection of teas inspired by alcohol, coffee, and wine from A.muse Projects at booth 2B37.

In the mood for some booze? Grab a beer at Wunderbar (booth 3B13), which will also serve a special brew at SCF.

5. Snack on ice-cream, pastries & finger foods

What really caught our eyes is Killiney Kopitiam’s special creation – the ‘Killiney Doffee’ at booth 3A19. What you’ll get is a cup of coffee with a donut on top. Sticking out of the donut is a little syringe you can use to inject syrup. Think kaya-filled donuts. Are your mouths watering yet?

Other snacks available at SCF range from healthy offerings to the, well, not so healthy ones.

Health nuts can tuck into a superfood bowl topped with fruits from Project Acai. There is also the guiltless vegan coconut ice cream at HICJUICE’s booth, if you’re watching your waistline.

Can’t get enough of salted eggs? Head over to The Golden Duck’s booth at 2B10 to snack on salted egg crisps that go for $7 per pack.

If it’s your cheat day (or weekend), grab a popsicle or a cup of gelato at Momolato’s Serving Pleasure at booth 3B15. We spotted some interesting flavours such as Korean Strawberries – also, the popsicles looked drool-worthy.

6. Shop at the indoor flea market

The exhibition space is air-conditioned so grab your beverage or food item of choice and wander your way through the indoor lifestyle flea market.

There are several booths selling quirky accessories, books, clothes and even dreamcatchers.

7. Get beautiful at the pop-up beauty bar

Ladies, be sure to stop by the Shiseido Parlour which features the brand’s Ibuki skincare range.

Don’t miss out on the delectables specially flown in from Japan, such as camellia and butter cookies, or the parlour’s iconic cheesecake and ganache.
