The Wild Rice restaurant at the Boulevard Hotel Kuala Lumpur has gone down the traditional path again for its Ramadan buffet.
There are plenty of rice dishes to choose from.
Take a pick from the famous Roast Lamb with rice, Nasi Bukhari, Nasi Minyak, Nasi Briyani, Nasi Tomato, Nasi Dagang and Nasi Kerabu
The Roast Lamb is cooked in a different way each day as the menu is rotated every day. The options range from the Mediterranean-style lamb, Honey Lamb to the Malay-style roasted lamb.
Senior sous chef Shahran Hadzim said rice was a staple diet among Asians and it was also a favourite among those who break fast.
He said many people liked to break fast with rice as it was easier to digest after a long day of fasting.
“That is why we always go with rice, and try to give a few rice options for our diners.
“Most Malays are rice eaters. Normally we break fast with rice and then venture into other dishes like noodles,” he said.
Diners can start off at the rice section and go for seconds and thirds at the other stalls set up near the pool area.
There are seven rotating menus for the season. Some of the highlights of the promotion are Ayam Percik, Ekor Lembu Masak Assam Pedas, Kari Kepala Ikan, Ketam Masak Lemak Cili Padi and Gulai Rebung Ikan Masin.
Shahran added that diners should also try the dates served at the restaurant as there were several types to enjoy. “The most popular is the Tunisian honey dates. It is really sweet and has a soft texture unlike other types,” he said.
The buffet is available until Sept 8 and is priced at RM85nett per adult and RM43nett per child.
However, if you dine between Sept 6 and 8, it comes at a special price of RM70nett for an adult and RM35nett for a child.
