Singapore's reputation as a food paradise is not lost on top-tier international chefs who have been turning up on our shores, and Formula One is just one more reason for acclaimed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten to make a return trip.

The three Michelin-starred chef is the star culinary attraction arranged by Singapore GP as a special treat for its Paddock Club patrons this year.

For the race weekend (Sept 24 to 26), Vongerichten and his team of chefs will prepare a menu of five-star international cuisine in a dedicated lifestyle area which will be accessible to all Paddock Club guests.

Vongerichten, whose Jean Georges restaurant in Manhattan has been awarded three Michelin stars and four stars by The New York Times, has often been lauded as a pioneer of modern cooking.

One of the first European chefs to be influenced by Asian cuisine and ingredients, Vongerichten is well known for the
combination of East-West flavours in his cuisine.

Fittingly, some of his creations that will be served during his visit will include Rice Cracker Crusted Tuna with Citrus-Sriracha Emulsion and Black Truffle and
Fontina Cheese Pizza.

According to Singapore GP, local chefs who will be working with chef Vongerichten will travel to New York to train in his award-winning restaurants.

“Last year’s celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa received rave reviews among our Paddock Club patrons,” says Colin Syn, deputy chairman, Singapore GP.

That gave them the cue to “introduce thereafter only the most pre-eminent chefs” for their well-heeled customers. It makes you wonder what will be on the menu next year.

All dedicated suites within the Formula One Paddock Club have been taken up but individual tables in shared suites are still available for sale ($8,000 per person).
