The Clementi Mall Announces its Anchor Tenants
The Clementi Mall is scheduled to be operational by January 2011, with FairPrice Finest, Foodfare and National Library Board (NLB) as its anchor tenants.
Located at Clementi town centre, The Clementi Mall is a six-storey retail development totaling approximately 190,000 square feet of retail space, which includes a basement shopping level and a basement carpark with about 144 carpark lots.
Upon completion, it will be linked directly to the Clementi MRT station on the third storey and subsequently, the bus interchange on the first level in the later part of 2011.
The Housing and Development Board (HDB) has handed over the core structure and facade to the mall management on 31 August 2010. Fitting out works will commence soon and they are due to be completed in two phases.
Level 1 and Basement One comprising the supermarket and shops are scheduled to be ready by January 2011, and levels three to five by March 2011.
When completed, the FairPrice Finest supermarket will occupy approximately 20,000 square feet at Basement One while Foodfare foodcourt will take up about 10,000 square feet on Level 4. The 20,000 square feet NLB library will be situated on Level 5.
With its strategic location in Clementi town and accessibility to integrated transport amenities like the Clementi MRT station and bus interchange, The Clementi Mall is poised to be an anchor attraction in the area.
Positioned as a contemporary and mid-market mall, The Clementi Mall will enjoy a good catchment from Holland Village, Bukit Timah and West Coast, where key tertiary institutions such as National University of Singapore, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, and UniSIM are located.
The mall logo, with its bright and cheerful hues of blue and orange, and easy-to-read typeface, is designed to portray a contemporary lifestyle family mall. The word “mall” is deliberately encased in a circle to depict the circular architectural design of the building.
CM Domain, the owner of The Clementi Mall, had won the tender for the 99-year leasehold property at Commonwealth Avenue West / Clementi Avenue 3 in November 2009.
The Clementi Mall is part of a larger development by HDB, which will also house two blocks of 40-storey HDB residential flats totalling 388 units above the retail podium.
