Swiss-Bake Cafe

Swiss-Bake is well-known for its wide range of European-style breads, pastries and cakes, thanks to its bakery outlets across the island. It now also has two cafes (at Parkway Parade and Vivocity) at which you can also tuck into a Swiss cafe meal.
Distinctly European dishes include Vienna Sausages ($6.50) with potato salad, mustard and bread. The sausages, from a Swiss butchery, are tender inside with a springy bite to the skin, and perfect with the mustard. The accompanying potato salad is lightly creamy and pleasantly sourish.
Another Swiss-style dish is Smoked Kassler (smoked pork loin, $9.90) with sauerkraut, potato salad, mustard and bread. At first bite, the meat yields a hint of apple, while the sauerkraut is neither too strong-tasting nor dry, but definitely more-ish for those who enjoy such pickled flavours.
Some items pair east with west, like the Oriental Chicken with Yoghurt in a soft Kraftkorn Bread ($4.80). The Kraftkorn bread is quitessentially European, being brown and chewy, satisfying yet not too heavy.
The filling's eastern tones lie in its oriental chicken spiced with curry paste and yogurt (no mayonnaise or oil), making this sandwich a delicious choice for the health-conscious.
Other sandwich options include turkey ham and ham & cheese, with Kraftkorn or Ciabatta bread. You can request other types of bread if you like. For $9.80-$11.80 (depending on your main-item choice), get a set meal of a sandwich or meat dish with cake and coffee.
A slice of cake or one of their Danish pastries will mark a sweet end to your meal, or a nice takeaway to savour afterwards. Do try their Swiss Bar ($9.90), a longish slab of nut-sprinkled, chocolate-covered chocolate cake with prunes, neither too sweet nor cloying, yet rich enough to be a real treat.
