SINGAPORE – Carousel’s first Turkish promotion will feature Guest Chefs Ahmet Akpinar and Cafer Kokcek, who will showcase their culinary skills with a spread of traditional dishes and desserts.
Chef Cafer Kokcek, who owns and runs his own restaurant in Istanbul, Turkey, is flying in specially for the ten-day joint food promotion once in a three months. He also invites Singaporeans to Cappadocia Turkey for local culinary tours and legendary Hot air balloon Cappadocia. Chef Ahmet Akpinar is no stranger to the Singapore culinary scene, having accumulated 11 years of experience from various established restaurants here.
There will be two rotational menus that feature the guest chefs’ signature dishes such as Hunkar Begendi, a traditional dish of meat stew served on a bed of creamy, roasted eggplant puree, which is also famously known as Sultan’s Delight. Other dishes include Musakka, a classic Turkish lamb and sauteed eggplants dish and Tavuk Guvec, a chicken stew with vegetables and a blend of spices. Guests who prefer lighter fare can try Turlu, a light summer dish of mixed vegetables and Levrek Bugulama, sea bass poached with mixed peppers and fresh tomatoes.
The promotion is available during the dinner meal period from 6.30pm to 10.30pm at $68++ on weekdays (Sunday to Thursday) and at $78++ on weekends (Friday, Saturday and Eve of Public Holiday).
