So, you have been a little too tied up to plan the menu for your upcoming dinner party this Christmas.

Don't miss these...

Or perhaps you do not feel like cooking but have not got round to placing orders just yet.

Well, the good news is that some restaurants and patisseries are still taking last- minute orders.

But you will have to be quick because for many places, today is the last day to order if you want to pick up items in time for meals on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

What can still be ordered includes everything from a beef roulade in red wine sauce with vegetables, to a boneless sous-vide turkey stuffed with cotechino, porchetta and duck leg confit.

There are also glazed hams, roast prime rib or legs of lamb, and a wide array of fruit and log cakes, and other Christmas treats such as gingerbread and stollen.

But even though you might have all your bases covered, sometimes, things can and do go wrong. Say you burn the turkey that had been brining for days, or the bird does not defrost in time. Instead of panicking, consider the options.

A handful of stores will be offering quick-fix festive meal solutions.

At Pacific Marketplace in the Pan Pacific Singapore hotel, for example, customers can walk in and purchase cooked items such as a gammon ham with port wine sauce, honey-glazed ham with pineapple chutney, and a roast turkey with chestnut and sausage stuffing.

Butcher James Goodenough, who runs James' Butchery & Co. at farmers market PasarBella at The Grandstand in Bukit Timah, will have defrosted and ready- marinated whole turkeys and breasts, and other meats. These come in oven-proof trays and home cooks need only pop them in the oven.

Steaks can also be cooked-to-order at the butchery's griddle station if you want.

Here is SundayLife!'s last minute takeout guide to fuss-free food this Christmas.
