If the Italians have their homemade fresh pasta, we Chinese have our La-Mian.

But I find making la-mian more tedious than pasta.

Continuously stretching and twisting the dough. Till it makes lots of strands of delicious "QQ" noodles. The process is an art by itself.

Here in Chinatown, there are quite a number of eateris that sells "La Mian" but my money is for this small shop, at the corner of Mosque Street and New Bridge Road.

You find young northern Chinese men, kneading, stretching and twisting noodles, upon order. Nothing is premade here. The dough is made fresh everyday.

A bowl of their noodles with beef noodle soup will transport you to China.

The soup was very full of beefy goodness. The beef chunks were so tender that not difficult to bite and eat.

I ordered a whole China pizza (pancake). Filled with minced pork and onions. Savour it with their in-house chili sauce.

And I guarantee you will be back for more.

The dough was crispy on the outside but maintained the moisture of the pork, so it was very juicy inside.

The menu is is very simple. A few noodle dishes, a few rice dishes, some dumplings and the pizza.

Very simple, very good. Very affordable. Very authentic. What more would you ask for.
