Shimbashi Soba
Enjoy handmade buckwheat noodles at Shimbashi in Paragon.
Andrea Ongby Andrea Ong

What: A Japanese restaurant serving a wide variety of healthy, handmade soba - buckwheat noodles - and Japanese desserts.

Must try:
Take a leisurely tea break at Shimbashi with its teatime special from 2.30-5.30pm daily ($5+++ for a choice of Japanese dessert and drink). Try the anmitsu (soba balls with red bean and fruits) and uguisu kuzumochi (gelatinous cake served with vanilla ice cream).

If you have room for more, try the recommended soba for June. The refreshing Salmon Oyako Tororo soba ($20.80) comes chilled with salmon sashimi, salmon roe and Japanese yam, while the Unagi, Kinoko and Egg soba ($18.80) is served warm with eel, mushrooms and egg.
