Love the hawker centre's cheaper Buddha Jumps Over The Wall soup but hate the overly fishy taste?

Then visit StraitsKitchen, which is offering a healthier but delectable version of the soup without using fishy deep-fried fish maws.

You can enjoy unlimited helpings of the soup at the lunch buffet till next month alongside many local favourites.

StraitsKitchen's version of the Buddha Jumps has black chicken which is more nourishing and boasts a deep shellfish taste from the use of sea scallops and dried abalone-like shellfish.

Adding to the flavours and texture of the soup are sea cucumber and black mushrooms.

At the halal-certified theatre kitchens whipping up Malay, Nonya, Chinese and Indian cuisines, you can find popular hawker and local favorites, such as Carrot Cake, Satay, Beef Rendang, Buah Keluak, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Laksa, Tandoori Chicken and Naan.

There are also good dessert and drink selections. Apart from Almond Jelly, Banana Fritters, home-made Durian ice-cream, try the Kueh Dadah, which is made with thin crepes filled with dessicated coconut flavoured with palm sugar.

The local spread is one of the best buffet on local cuisines and street food. It has been voted repeately by AsiaOne readers as one of the top buffets.

The Nonya section is cooked by one of Singapore's top Peranakan chefs, Shirley Tay. Don't miss Ayam Buah Keluak, Prawn Sambal and Chicken Pongteh.

Middle-Eastern delights among local fare for dinner

You can also find some Middle-Eastern dinner items for Ramadan breaking of fast by Grand Hyatt Doha chefs being offered for lunch too.

Their Middle-Eastern tea, freshly brewed with mint and lemongrass, is getting popular with guests curious about drinks from Qatar.

But the local Teh Tarik and assorted juices are still a top choice among regulars.
